We love fall

I am so happy it is fall. It was a long hot summer. I hope the cooler weather sticks around a while and Emma can wear all her cute new fall clothes :) Our girl is talking so much now and can say please and thank you and many many more (about 25 words). She can also do about 15 signs and she knows them both ways...I show her the sign and she can say the word and I tell her the word and she shows me the sign. Oh, and did I mention she won the Pottery Barn Kids cutest baby contest for October!!!!! How awesome is that! Her picture should be on the site soon. Oh and don't forget to pick up the November catalog because she will be in that too!!

Summer is winding down

The summer is coming to an end, not the heat apparently. Emma has just about outgrown all of her summer clothes and shoes but were trying to squeeze her in for the next couple months. Poor girl apparently has wide feet and it is hard to find shoes that fit, lol. Dang German blood I guess. Ha Ha! She absolutely loves swimming and we are gonna miss it come this fall. She loves the slides and putting her face in the water. We will probably put her in swim lessons this winter to keep her acquainted with the water. I was beginning to worry she would just be a late talker, but man over the last few weeks she has just started doing so well. She can say about 15 words including: bubble, star, hat, fish, shoe and many more.

I finally broke down and got Emma's hair cut. Trust me, I contemplated this decision for days. She did so well though and did not cry once. The people at Snip its were great. They blew bubbles and gave her toys to play with. I don't even think she knew what was going on. Too cute! Her hair looks great. You can hardly tell it was cut, but hey.... lol. I'm glad we did it cause it was getting a little out of control, and that girl could never be anything other than adorable. :D

We had our first trip to Chuck E Cheese today. She loved the skee ball and the mini carousel but not much else. She is still a bit young I guess but we had fun nonetheless.

Happy August errr 4th of July!!

So I know it is a little late for 4th of July pics, but what the heck.

Emma has become quite the little swimmer. She has no fear of the water and will literally walk right in (see pics below, thanks Larry). It took about two times swimming for her to realize swimming is fun. Her Daddy is so proud of his little water baby. We went to the Red, Hot and Blue Festival in The Woodlands on the 4th and had a great time. We had prime real estate when it came to watching the fire works. We will definitely go back next year! That is pretty much all there is to tell. This summer has been filled with swimming, friends and eating. Just your normal Texas summer!

Emma is just the funniest little girl. She has such a cute personality, and she is such a joy to be around. I laugh at her constantly. She still loves WW and pretty much anything on Nick Jr. I think we will be putting her in (Pre)Pre-School in August. Kinda scary and exciting at the same time. I know it will be good for her to socialize and learn new things, but it has just been Emma and Mommy for so long. I think it will definitely be harder on Mommy than on Emma!

No news from the Ped yet, she goes in for her 18 month check up in a few months. I am pretty sure she weighs about 24 lbs and is prob about 32 inches tall. Tall and lean with blond hair and blue eyes, uh oh Poppa. You have your hands full for the next, lets just say, 20 years! Dad's plan of defense is to get "tatted up" and scare the boys away. I hope it works, cause I got nothing. That's okay, we will just let her be the precious baby that she is for a little while longer.

While strolling through the park one day.....

....my Mom took 75 pictures of me!! There's always enough time in the day for an impromptu photo shoot, right? Our girl is officially sleeping in her own bed, well I guess I should say she goes to sleep in her own bed. She usually wakes up in mine, but hey, progress is progress right? We have had an exciting summer so far with an awesome trip to San Antonio and SeaWorld. Emma loved the huge fish tanks, the dolphins and the killer whales. She has also gotten used to the pool and swimming and she loves it now! I think her Poppa was worried. There is no way any child of his would not like the water ;) Emma is also great at her sign language skills now. She can say eat, all done, milk, and more. She uses those signs regularly. Usually in the morning she tells me she is hungry by doing the sign for eat. She also does the signs for Momma, Poppa, cookie and take a bath with some coaxing. Of course, she doesn't do ANY sign language when the camcorder is nearby. Whew, that girl has 10 teeth now! It's about time to go to the dentist. they just keep popping up without warning. At meal time she can pretty much feed herself now. Some of her favorites are strawberries, zucchini, carrots and she has always loved anything flavored with the herb basil. She is an overall excellent eater. I don't think we will have any issues with being picky, but you never know! She is just a perfect happy and healthy toddler. She is my little cuddle bug and I think for now she is a Momma's girl, she just melts my heart.

She loves gumballs

May May May

Summer is just about in full swing and I'm worried our little swimmer from last year has vanished. So far she has not really enjoyed the pool (though we have only been once, lol). We will see what the summer brings because her Poppa will not have a baby that doesn't swim (he like won state in swimming or something). At the last visit with Dr. Mac Emma weighed 20 lbs and was 30 inches tall, she is tall and skinny right now. She is increasing her vocab and can say ball, pat pat, baby along with other she was already saying. She is also doing great on her sign language. We are working on it every day, and she regularly does the sign for eat, all done, milk and sometimes she does the sign for more. It tends to be a good....I would usually say party trick here, but I'm not quite sure I can use that phrase concerning my baby, lol. We have been busy this May with two visits to see Aunt Cherish, a visit to the Fort Worth Zoo (much better than the Houston Zoo) and this week we are going to SeaWorld, whew. Just a few pictures from the month of May!
